North Coast 500
The North Coast 500 - One of Scotland’s iconic road trips that take you 500 miles around the North and North West coast of Scotland through some of the most beautiful and remote parts of the country.
You start off in the City of Inverness and head north, to the famous John O’Groats, then west to the stunning beaches of Durness and Ullapool, before heading south through the rugged mountains of Torridon and the Applecross Peninsula, before returning to Inverness.
Splitting Up The Trip
Whilst the North Coast 500 can be done in as little as 3 days, I would recommend trying to spend at least 5 days attempting to tackle this. If you are anything like us, you’ll likely be wanting to stop off at every single viewpoint and beach along the way, so it’s worth giving yourself a bit of extra time to explore and to get the camera out.
On our attempt at the NC500, we split the trip up into 8 days, which gave us plenty of time to explore and take in the sights. There is still soo much more to see though, so we’ll likely be heading back up here many times in the future.
